If he does allow it, make sure you are officially covered as security, etc... for liability reasons.  If not, you're just a "citizen" with a handgun...liable for your own actions.  (technically...we are always liable for our actions...that's why cops get jacked up in the courts frequently over shootings....someone like Kim Worthy loves the opportunity to press charges on a cop.)

Note:  someone please correct me if I am wrong with this assessment.

Make sure you check with the owner. As best as I can remember; if you have armed employees, you must have a higher level of liability insurance.
You as the armed employee must be bonded to be armed while on the job.

This may have all been changed but that's how it was when I worked security.

food for thought...JMO

I would Strongly suggest NOT to open carry as a bouncer , Its trouble waiting to happen.  I would suggest Fox labs spray or something similar.  I was a bouncer for a few different bars in my younger days, Open carrying in that position will make some guys  looking to take you on just for bragging rights to their friends. People get real ballsy when they have been drinking. I could tell ya lots of crazy stories of the stuff I`ve seen.

My brother has been a bouncer for the last decade or so.  I asked him why he never carried.  He told me that with all the people he has to haul around, and their friends that do their best to get flank him and attack from behind, a gun would just be one VERY importing thing he would always have to be paying attention to instead of the patrons he is "escorting" to the parking lot.

My Two Cents, if i may. Bouncing and OC do not mix. Picture OCing and body guard. Just too personal. Carry On.

I agree. Having been a bouncer at two different establishments, one a nightclub with 1500 plus capacity, and the other a bar with less than 500 capacity, the last thing I want to worry about when wrestling a guy to ground, is his drunk buddy grabbing my gun and shooting me in the back. Bouncers are usually a very tight nit group and are always watching out for each other. Most situations were resolved in less than a minute due to remaining vigilent of my surroundings, and having 4 or 5 others who had my back should the situation escalate  ;)
