My first suggestion is, since you are "new" to Open Carrying, watch the events section of the forum and attend an OC seminar as soon as you can, they have them about once a month in different areas. They are about 2 hours long and discuss what to do and what not to do while OCing, people can ask questions during the seminar if they don't understand something, there is no cost for the seminar either.
