Accidental discharge to the head? Indeed the detectives should continue to investigate because this doesn't sound right....

This dont pass the smell test!  Though it reminds me of an incident in Providence RI a few years back where a Cranston LEO; whom was sitting on the steps outside the District Court House after test-a-lying in a case, had placed his .40cal pistol in a inside the pants holster at the small of his back.  As he was sitting down he attempted to adjust the pistol when it discharged giving him same same wound Forest Gump recieved in Nam!

There is no way a person can have an "accidental discharge to the head".   I can, however, think of a lot of scenarios where this person would receive a gunshot to the head... but none of them are accidental.

Have to disagree. Several months ago a young shooter was accidently killed while conducting a rapid fire exercise. Accidents happen!

Not true. This falls squarely under the domain of Negligence, not accident. If you are referring to the incident that I'm thinking of, it was negligence by the parent to allow his young son to operate a fully automatic rifle without training or safety precautions, having the knowledge that even adults have difficulties avoiding the muzzle walk up when in auto fire.

That is negligence, not accidental.
