How often have any of you ever seen two women open carrying by themselves...probably not very often.  But if you would have been in Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics in Shelby Township on Wednesday Afternoon you would have seen me and my mom open carrying.  Lots of bug eyed looks, but no one said anything to either of us.

We also had no incidents on our trip south when we stopped at the Flying Jay gas station off of I-75 @ the Reese exit.  And no incidents on the way back when we stopped at the McDonald's at University and Opdyke Rd.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that we had my 3 year old daughter with us.

2nd day of OC.  Two trips to Don's Done Rite car wash in Berkley to vacuum and clean the family trucks.  Stop to fill up at the station on 12 mile and a trip to Royal Oak Ford for parts.  A few people noticed, nobody said anything.

OCed at Culver's in Stevensville for lunch and Panel Room in Hartford for dinner. No issues and one comment. My waitress at the Panel Room said "got yer trusty pistol I see!" I answered in the affirmative and she just smiled and asked if I needed more to drink.

OCed down to the Benton Harbor Police Department today to drop off some paperwork. Officer outside stopped me and asked how I liked my XDm 9mm. I told him it was a pretty good carry gun, especially since its the gun of choice for the Berrien County Sheriff, but in a .45.

A bit of OC in Kalamazoo today.

Meijer on W. Main
On Target Guns & Gunsmithing
Dinicio's Koney Island
D & R Sports
MC Sports (put a Ruger Charger on lay away--it was the last one and they had a great clearance price)

Then home to Battle Creek where I OCed in Dunham's to get a shotgun out of layaway.

No issues but I did find it funny that when I walked up the pistol counter at D & R the woman working there just got done giving her spiel to a customer about how you never want, under any circumstances, to let anybody see your gun. I walked up and her eyes went straight to the OCed 1911 and she just looked at me. I smiled and kept looking around. Nothing was said.

Open carried my Beretta while riding my Harley. I stopped at a Speedway, on Bristol Rd. and I475. After getting some gas, I spotted a lady at the next pump over, checking me out. She looked away, after I noticed her. After that, I had a coffee at Tim Horton's. A couple from Fenton were talking in line about what I was carrying. I told them, and the fella said that he was jealous. They were firefighters from Detroit. They said that it's a policy that they cannot arm themselves while on duty. Too bad..

i was down there today ocdetroit. wasn't sure of the OC access and was walking across jefferson when i ran into onnie. he said he and wife were there an hour and a half with no problems. he walked back to my jeep while i geared up and we chatted a while. he also gave me a printout to give DPD if any issues arose.
went thru security checkpoint - not a word. waved thru. waled all over there a few times looking for my C+W or OC friends. ran into Master Control and a friend OC. we walked the whole place. got plenty of very positive comments. lots of "YEAH. OPEN CARRY" "LOVE TO SEE IT" etc. DPD never said a word. MC and friend knew several officers and even got a thumbs up and a peace sign from some. ran into a few other OCers there but said they weren't on the websites. i just assumed we all were. no issues. no problems.
a young girl tripped and fell in front of me and her hand landed right on the butt of my Sig228. she didn't realize until she pulled herself up with it that it was a handgun. she apologized and i just said it was ok. other than that wasn't bad and reminded me why i am so glad i don't have teenage daughters to worry about.

OCed at Cottage Inn Pizza in downtown Lansing on Washington after the court hearing with TheQ, Venator, DanM, and one guy who's name I didn't catch. (from kzoo)  Had a decent talk with the manager (who is OC friendly) about how they mgmt won't let him carry even though he has a CPL.  He also told us that their security system is on teh fritz and hopefully will be fixed soon.  I wished I had told him to just CC anyways...  chances are no one would know, and if he had to use it, he could be fired, but alive.

Anyways, just ate and took off, nothing eventful to report.  NO looks, no screaming women or children....

Only thing that was kinda funny is I don't have a CPL, so as I was transitioning from transport to OC, I was standing near the door of my truck, grabbed my firearm out of the case after removing the lock...   then as I was slamming in the mag and racking the slide and holstering, LPD pulled up just behind my parked vehicle...  not sure if they saw or not, but the timing couldn't have been worse.  :)   Nothing happened so it was all good.

IWB Oc'd while taking a stroll down the south side harbor-walk in South Haven, all the way from the top of Water st. to the end of the pier and back, only overheard one comment about  me and that was a teenager on a skateboard being told by his buddy to stop riding it on the sidewalk "there's a cop right in front of us".

Stood in line for the water fountain at the south side pavilion for ten minutes while a bunch of little girls took turns "drinking" (hosing each other down) and none of them or their parents took any untoward notice of my sidearm. Hmm... No running, no screaming. I must be doing something wrong.
