I open carried on my Harley into Fenton's Tim Horton (coffee) and also into 7 Lakes State park in Holly. I took the first road to the left because it is hilly and winding. On the way back to the main park road, I saw the State police (with bubble gum light turning) race on past me, heading to the main part of the park. It nags in your mind that someone might of called on you, but you can't prove it. Anyways, I didn't follow him, I went the opposite way.

Today, I stopped at a McDonald's for a drink. I was following a mom and her two boys (about 8 and 11) into the building. The youngest was holding the door and got a glimpse of my Beretta. They got to the counter first, and the 8 yr. old stood with his back to the counter, while his mom ordered. The point being that he was so fascinated with the view, that it made me chuckle on the inside.

OC yesterday at the walled lake jet boat races. had to park pretty far away so had to hike it around the lake past a novi police car (no comments or issues) past walled lake barricades and patrol units (same but reserve officers) and around the boats in restaurant parking lot. police everywhere. ran into officer i knew and chatted with him for a minute. no problems or issues. actually felt invisible. there was just an Amp power drink floating thru the air.

Over the last week OCed in Adrian at Lowe's, Speedway, Meijer and Starbucks. While at Meijer a guy asked me if I was attempting to carry concealed, we talked about about a minute and he stated 30 years ago when he got his cpl they were told it was required to be concealed. On the way out he told me it was nice to see someone still exercising their freedom these days.

Last night spent about an hour OCing at Cabela's as I was walking to the exit from checking out I hear a childs voice say "Mommy why is there a policeman working here" her response was there is not at which time I assume he pointed to my XD as it was on their strong side and I hear the mother go "oh, I don't know"

I really need to remember to post my experiences here as well as on OCDO.

Here's mine from today.

Did a little bit of OCing today since it wasn't too godawful hot to tuck in my shirt.

The girlfriend and I walked up the street to the little BBQ place that just opened up to get some take-out. No issues while the guy as putting our order together. He says business is going well so I hope he can make a go of it because it would be nice to have a place within walking distance.

Anyway...

Just as we get back to our driveway one of the neighborhood young-un's rides up on his bike. My girlfriend greets him by name (I work an odd shift so I'm not usually out and about when the kids are) and he asks her "why does he have a gun?"

I turned to greet him and told him: "Well, there are some bad people in the world and I just want to make sure I can protect myself if one of them attacks me. I also want to make sure I can protect the people I care about. That's my girlfriend there (pointing) and I love her very much and I want to be able protect her if somebody tries to hurt her. I also want to be able to protect you and your friends if a bad person tries to hurt you. Does that make sense?"

Him: "Uh-huh"

Me: "That's it. That's the reason I carry a gun."

Him: "Oh, ok. Bye." Then he rode off down the road on his merry way.

OHDEARGODTHINKOFTHECHILDREN!!!!!

Later in the evening I OCed at Steak & Shake on Westnedge in Kalamazoo. An elderly gentleman saw my pistol as I sat down and he watched my for a bit but I think my friendly demeanor with the waitress and the fact that I was just sitting and reading my book and not bothering anybody quickly set him at ease and he went back to his ice cream.

No issues at all.

Had a postal employee ask me, while shopping in Kroger the other day, where I got my hip holster.   ;D

Tonight I walked to the party store for a 1/2 pint of absolut and was almost there, trying to cross the street, when I noticed a RPD unit behind me pull off the road into the end of one of my neighbors driveways.  I continued on my, waited until the road was clear so I could jaywalk, and went to the party store.  I left the party store and he was still parked there so I made sure to cross the road in front of him, so I could pass by his driver's side window (weak side) and wave to him.  He was looking down at some paperwork (lol) and looked up briefly to wave.  2 minutes after I turned in my driveway he was gone.   :o

IWB OC'd at Harbor Fest in South Haven from around 22:00 to 23:00, only heard one comment "Dang! He got's a gun" from a rude young lady whom I had to dodge, as her group of friends took up the entire sidewalk.

Quite a few cops around, none of whom took notice of my firearm. All in all, another good day to OC!

Open carried into Meijer's on Hill Rd. and US23. A few looks from the astonished, but otherwise the employees acted like I was just another customer. Also oc into William's Gunsight. I can still hit the target..

good OC weekend. great weather. couple notable items. waiting to get my hair cut an older couple approached me and asked if i could answer some questions about my carrying a gun. i said sure. the man asked why. i said CC or OC. he said both. i launched into my usual self protection speech and the visual deterant of OC when the girl called me back to get cut. wish i had more time. he seemed unsure when i started and was visibly intrigued with my statements.
OC today at the livonia spree. stopped to read the lengthy spree rule board and nothing about weapons. mostly gang stuff, attire and no outside alcohol. i'm not in a gang (except for MOC), my pants are pulled up and i don't drink.
livonia police regulars, reserves, explorers, event police(?) and lost track of different uniforms everywhere. not a word. did a couple casual glances back when walking past some reserves. they quickly ran up and asked full time officers pointing to me. when i looked again at them they pretended they weren't looking at me. glanced back again and they resumed their posts. my guess is reserves need legal updates too. once again not only did they not approach me it was as if i were invisible.
one humorous side note while walking past a dunk tank carnival barker insulting passers by to get them to pay to dunk him both times i walked by he got strangely quiet resuming insults after i was out if sight.
bunch of other countless unremarkable OC places - taco bell, several convienience stores, gas stations, walmart, kroger, best buy, dick's etc. nothing to report. *sigh*

I OC'd my first time just to the laundry room outside my apartment.  There was a lady in there who seemed nice.  Asked her if I could turn the lights on (it was starting to get dark) and I think she noticed my firearm, as she seemed to quickly pack up and leave...

Out and about in Battle Creek today.

Discount Tire on Columbia. Everybody in there was very polite. There was one guy (who may have been the manager since he was in a different shirt) that walked by and said to the guy helping me "don't mess with him, he's got a gun." My guy said "yup, I know" then asked if I was with a dept. or just had my permit. We had a bried convo as he got my info squared away. No problems.

While I was waiting I walked over to Tony's Hong Kong and had a very nice lunch, no problems.

Then on to Rx Optical on Columbia to pick out some new prescription safety glasses. Not a word and no issues. I was dealing directly with the manager and she was great. Very helpful and friendly.

Left Rx and swung into the Shell station on Capital to pick up a soda...no issues.

Stopped into Southside Sportsman Club to fondle a couple of guns and BS with the guys.

Later we took the dogs out for a walk & swim at Fort Custer. Lots of folks around but surprise, surprise no body ran away screaming.

For dinner we went to Golden Dragon and a little after dinner grocery shopping at Family Fare in Pennfield. No issues at either place.

All in all a good day.

Had my OWB holster on as I went in to apply for my CPL (yeah I had to break down and do it) and the lady noticed...  (who was pretty cuuute btw) and asked if I was LEO because of all the lay offs recently she had been doing a lot for laid off cops.  Anyways, I said nope, it's just teh only way I can carry...and we proceeded to have a decent conversation about OC and guns and how stupid the CPL law was since people could jsut carry anyways and how preposterous it was that I could carry while walking around, but the second I got in a vehicle I was some how "dangerous".

So not really an OC experience... but close enough.  :)
