Hello
« on: July 30, 2011, 06:18:25 PM »
Hello everyone. My name is Doug. I'm from Petoskey originally. I served in the US Army for 9 years before being medically discharged in 2009. I'm now working as a DoD Contractor in Afghanistan. I've had a Michigan CPL for 6 years now, but didn't know open carry was legal in Michigan until about 2 years ago. At the time I was still living in Arizona and on active duty. I open carried a lot in Arizona and had nothing but positive experiences. Never even had a LEO blink at my pistol. I'm really looking forward to getting back to Michigan in January 2012 and open carrying. My primary pistol is a Taurus PT-145 .45 caliber. I love it because it fits my hand better than any other pistol I've tried, and I've put tons of rounds through it and never had any malfunctions (had some rounds not go off, but the primer was clearly hit by the firing pin). I'm very pro 2A, and when I get home, I'd love to be as active as I can in helping. One thing I could use some advice on from some of you veteran OCers, my wife has an anxiety disorder, and gets very anxious and embarrassed. I'm worried about OCing with her in Michigan. Do any of you have experience in handling that? PM me if you have any advice. I'd appreciate it.

Doug,

Thank you for going in my place.  Ease your wife into OC.  Do it when you head out by yourself for awhile.  Respect her anxiety and go slow.
