show CPL ID?
« on: December 25, 2011, 10:09:36 PM »
question - you are OC in a PFZ with a CPL exempting you 750.234 and approached by LEO and asked for CPL to verify you are exempt. you choose not to show ID as it is not legally required. can an arrest be made by not showing the CPL?
seems to me they could but once arrested they would find ID and CPL and the arrest would be invalid. same as if OC and weapon becomes momentarily concealed by whatever. LEO and ID request denied. a simple CPL showing would clear it up but what if you chose to deny?
any ideas?

There is no law that requires you to. That being said how are you going to prove you are not in violation of 750.234D if you don't?

You can always refuse ID and let the lawyers sorted it out.
