A trust is a legal document that splits the property ownership into the legal title to the trust and equitable title to the beneficiaries.  It names a trustee, who will manage the trust assets and owes a fiduciary duty to the beneficiary. 

A NFA Firearms Trust is one method to own a Class 2 firearm (machine gun, silencer, or AOW).
