MOC Classified Area now available for all to see
« on: December 30, 2011, 08:32:47 PM »
All,

To help better promote what our members have for sale, we have made the Classified area open for all.  You don't even have to be logged in to view it.

Non-dues paying members can reply to posts others have made, but cannot make their own ads/posts.

Ads within another ad (ex, replying to an ad saying what you have for sale) will not be allowed.  This will be enforced with moderation, if required.  If you'd like to make your own ad, it's the perfect time to become a dues paying member of Michigan Open Carry, Inc.

Not only can Forum Members see the Classified Forums -- They can now post ads to them.

I noticed that we cannot Edit an add posted, Is there a way to turn that  edit feature on?

The reason I ask is because I sold a Firearm I had listed, and to mark it as Sold, I now have to put it in as a reply
that will now bump the add to the top. Where as if we could Edit the add ,I could just edit with Sold in the add
and let the thread die.

Its not a huge deal right now because there are not many listings, But if it were to get busy like MGO's classifieds
it sucks to bump it to the top, just to say Sold.

Thanks, Dennis

You should be able to modify your own posts in that forum.  You should also be able to lock your own thread.  I'll test it more later.

I did some testing tonight.  As a non-privileged user I could modify my post (including original post) and I could even lock the thread.

Well I tried to modify my other post in this thread as well and cannot.

When I tried to use the unlock feature in the for sale thread, It said I cannot unlock MY thread because it was locked by an administrator.

Create a test sales thread.  After you're done playing with it (modifying posts, locking the thread, unlocking the thread), I'll delete it.  Just name the thread TEST.
