Update: Pistol Free Zone status
« on: March 12, 2012, 11:21:28 AM »
I have just gotten out of Richard LeBlanc coffee hours and had a chance to ask him about pistol free zones.  The long and the short of it is the committee chairman, John Walsh, doesn't feel it has the support he wants it to have.  I have been told that if people call their representatives and have their representatives go to John Walsh the committee chairman.  The bill will get out of the committee and go to the floor for a vote.

God I hope this becomes law....

Ottawa County's Gun Board is impossible to deal with. I put my CPL application (with all required documentation) in mid Feb. They meet once a month...for 3 hours...on a Thursday morning during working hours and require new applicants to come to the county offices in person. Heaven help you if you have to work.

They couldn't get me on the agenda for the Thursday in March, so they schedule me for their April meeting...which happens to be the week I have to be in Virginia for training for my job.

So now I can't get in until they meet in May. They make it all but impossible if you actually work for a living.

She slithered out with such stealth that I didn't even notice. Snake. Too ashamed to make a stand?

Probably because somebody sitting behind me kept talking to me.

And what about Hood looking down and at the wall when he voted against the bill. Another one without a spine?

To those planning to call their Senators....please consider waiting until we have a coordinated effort to call, which will be soon.  If you're not on our mailing list, now is the perfect time to sign up.  If you need the URL -- just ask.

I disagree. Waiting is never the answer. Its fresh and time is limited... Coordination is good but being proactive is better...

MCRGO is saying that there will NOT be a vote on this and that the Michigan Hospital Association is fighting to change the bill to keep hospitals as a PFZ

I think that sucks as my wife works at a hospital in downtown GR and in the winter has to walk to her car in the dark hoping she gets to the car alive where her pistol has to stay.
