cpl renewal paranoia
« on: April 23, 2012, 11:30:24 PM »
my current cpl was due to expire in may in oakland county where it was issued. i recently moved to livingston county where i reapplied in plenty of time before it expired. i was told it usually takes 3 weeks. my paperwork in i waited..and waited ...and waited. as 2 months was approaching i started my usual needless paranoia. they were stalling to check something out...some sort of OC incident was logged somewhere and flagged me as a possible threat...some sort of prescription put me on a danger list...the mental wheels were turning as the calendar to my birthday was drawing near. i was already checking into an appeal when saturday rolled around and a letter from the county arrived. i felt it for a card but felt nothing. my heart sank. i opened the envelope only to see the blue card roll out the end and an approval letter.
*whew* all that worry for nothing. am i the only one that thinks this way when dealing with the government agencies??
i don't fear the barking dog...i'm scared of the quiet dog

That's how I felt waiting to get my CPL recently.

When I saw a letter that said OC County Clerk and I felt a card in it when I pulled it out of the mailbox I instantly felt relieved and jumped foe joy lol

Carry On!

Well .... I'm happy for you.

Wife applied 3/13 and last we heard (after being told her cert was too old, and they had a "problem" with her prints BUT DON'T go get them done again) her app. is scheduled to be heard at this months (5/15) board.
If approved, I have no idea how long it will take to actually get the license.

How old is her cert? What county are you in?
