My experience with open carry
« on: August 22, 2012, 03:45:02 PM »
Just want to say hello to every one. I will be logging on time to time to let you know about my Experience in open carry here in Michigan.
As of now, I have been open carry for about 6 months, All in the M-59 , Hall Road area.. Vandyke, Wal-mart, COSTCO, bed and bath, Sams.... no problems, even at a gas station in Romeo where an Police officer was getting his coffee. Small chit chat, not questions, nothing out of what would be expected... just idle chit chat that he most likely used to size me up and let go on my way with out hesitation...

Facts about me:
Hispanic male.
Aged nicely ( LOL )
Dress conservative
Clean hair cut
Earrings
Respectful ( as I open the door for females when exiting or entering establishments )
Shop with my young family often
Appearance and attitude is the first thing people notice, then they see the gun, be normal, sane, respectful and the gun will carry the same respect when viewed by others.

Well done! Some think that appearance shouldn't matter, and don't understand why they have negative experiences. :o

Welcome to MOC from Grand Rapids!

If that were 100% accurate, what does it say having a flea bitten throw rug carrying?  ;D

just kidding, it does make a difference. Not saying you have to be business casual, but clean and presentable are good.

I carry a gun because a Police Officer is too heavy.
