I'm not sure if you are allowed to just open fire on some guys who broke into your business. A prosecutor may not look kindly on a guy who moved into his store specifically to shoot the next guys who broke in. Hopefully they were "threatening his life" so he was justified in shooting them. I'd hate to see this man prosecuted for murder.

I always assume anybody that breaks in is there to do me great bodily harm.

This wasn't only his business, it was his domicile.

"Castle Doctrine" applies -- completely eliminating the duty to retreat for People v Riddle held a person has no duty to retreat in his home as his home is his castle and there in no reasonable safer place to retreat to.

He has a regular residence. He only "moved in" to his business after multiple break ins. He moved in specifically to catch the thieves in the act. We cannot shoot to protect property.
