Finally saw someone open carrying!
« on: September 08, 2012, 12:08:38 AM »
I was walking Monroe looking for a fishing along the Grand River when a gentleman pulled up to an intersection on a motorcycle.  I looked at him and as I looked away I saw the green custom grips on what appeared to be a 1911.  He smiled, I smiled and he pulled away.  I was CC at the time though.  Nice to see it on the streets.

Big guy, grey beard?

By the description of the gun and because of the location and motorcycle, you probably saw our Secretary, Randy Davis.

I believe he may be referring to Monroe Ave in Grand Rapids, not the City of Monroe.

Randy Davis is a state delegate, like me. Ergo, he's in Grand Rapids right now, like me.

In still going with it was Randy David.

I spoke to Randy Davis on the phone, it wasn't him. He was driving his car.

I did not see a beard but that picture looks like the one I saw.   ;D

It was in fact Monroe in Grand Rapids.  I was walking around the building by what I think was the sixth street bridge.  I had a fishing pole if that helps.  lol

Is that why his grips are green?   ;D

Was he kinda muscular with six pack abs and look like a younger Robert Redford?   If so,it could have been me!   :P

Sorry boss.     :'(

Sixth Street bridge is about a mile from my house and I ride down Monroe regularly.  I believe that trip was a quick run to Jimmy Johns.   I OC that 1911 most of the time I am riding and  I'm glad to be seen.   I was stopped downtown on Monroe by GRPD the 2nd day I had the bike (no plates) with that 1911 and the policeman couldn't have been more professional, courteous, or helpful.

Thanks!  It isn't my Plan to be sighted but I don't care if I am.  Being sighted has led to several conversations About 2A rights.

Hmm, nope.  I must have missed the 6 pack abs. ::)

I OC most everywhere up here in Greenville where we moved to recently.  I don't think many take notice, however one young lady did ask me "Is that a Taser?"  LMAO
