Philadelphia PD negligent discharge in airport

A flight attendant at Philadelphia International left a .38 Airweight in her purse, and was caught at the security checkpoint. The firearm was confiscated, and promptly discharged negligently by a Philadelphia Police Officer when he attempted to unload the gun. You have to work pretty hard to ND a revolver.

This is the problem. Most cops are idiots. I mean its not hard and common sense can kick in and guide you the way through working a weapon i mean its not like splitting hydrogen atoms.  I seen cops who carry a Glock yet did not know how to operate a XD-40. i mean seriously?

Crap like this they should have a zero tolerance for. He needs to learn some basics of weapon handling becuae if you lack common sense you should not even be allowed to have sharp point scissors and only be allowed to write with the big round point crayons.

I have had several short discussions with a few LEOs about guns.  Not because I have any LEO friends, but because every now and then I have to go down to the local cop shop to retrieve a gun of mine that has been recovered somewhere across the USA (I had a good sized theft about fifteen years ago).  One of them, upon misidentifying the gun, told me he wasn't a gun guy, he only carried one because he was a cop and the department made him.  Srsly.

I've been having "jungle fever" lately too...     haha...


....but SERIOUSLY....    how in the WORLD do you accidentally touch off a revolver?!?!   I wonder if he was playing aroujnd with the hammer and had it cocked to SA or something?!   A DA revolver pull is just not something that accidentally happens.


He was probably walking around the room saying "now what are we going to do with you" thinking about how he was going to try to get her to perform some favors for him to get her out of trouble.....  then as he was day dreaming,  ***BANG***
