Quote from: Article
Columbia Police officers say a woman arrested late Tuesday evening and after allegedly cutting two other women with a sharp object at the main branch of the Richland County Public Library will face additional charges after she lied about her identity.

Police say after the argument, Stroman reached into her pocket and pulled out what investigators believe to be a box cutter or another similarly sharp object, and cut both victims in the face.

Thats something the CADL board should read, I'm sure it wont change their mind but maybe it will open their eyes a little bit!

sleep at shelter or in Finlay. 900am go to library and brush teeth, bathe etc in bathrooms there. hang out in library, laugh, disturb others that are actually using the library as intended, until soup kitchen opens. back to the library or finlay or accost folks on Main Street or the Post office until its time for evening meal then the shelter to open again.

Sound familiar for any of the people who have been down around the downtown branch of CADL?

Have you ever had anyone ask you for money while you were OCing?  I haven't.

Yeah, while I"m in the vehicle, they come up to the window... I hate that...     I think they have gotten their hands slapped though about approaching vehicles, as they seem to just stand there now until someone rolls down the window or initiates contact.

I haven't been approached by anyone on foot in a while...   though in the past while not OCing I had been approached by local crack heads asking for change/smokes, etc....

So in a word, no, no one has approached me while OCing, but I hadn't thought to note that maybe it's because of the OC.

I was panhandled in downtown Lansing while getting out of my convertible. He came up to my driver side, saw the gun attached to the driveshaft as he started to tell his story...then stopped and then walked away.

Ha...     I wonder what their intentions are if they just walk away like that...

I think the article explains why, but, I'll add my "two cents worth".  There are wackos everywhere.  Anyone that believes that a library is, for some reason, exempt from senseless violence is living in another time and is very naive.  The fact that I could stop someone that starts shooting for no "apparent" reason gives me great comfort.  Name a place that is perfectly safe these days.....

One last thought....I'll bet someone in Columbine wishes that someone other than the "whackos" were carrying that day.  They did kill kids in the library.....
