Carlos Miller, a photojournalist from Florida, was acquitted by a Dade County, Florida jury of "disobeying a lawful police order" during the Occupy Miami protests in January 2012.
The case received national attention because of the police behavior (witness intimidation and evidence destruction) over the recording of police. Miller is now pursuing civil litigation against the City of Miami.

"He says his next step will be to file a lawsuit charging that the deletion of the footage violated his constitutional rights."
File a complaint with the DA. Destruction of evidence!

This is not the first time Carlos Miller has been prosecuted and won.

"Carlos Miller has been arrested for taking photographs of police twice, prior to this latest incident. He has beaten both cases, including a resisting arrest conviction which he had reversed on appeal pro se (meaning Miller represented himself)."
