OC at Bob Evans, LEO lied
« on: May 21, 2010, 06:18:31 PM »
So, I'm in Bob Evans just eating with a friend, and I'm OC.  We're sitting directly across from 6 Flint City Police the whole time.  I get up, go pay, and as my hand is on the door, he stops me.  Asks who we work for, I explain I own my own security company.  He asks why the gun, I tell him we're going to a job.  He asks for ID.  I give it to him, with my CPL.  He says I can only carry concealed.  I explain I'm pretty sure that OC is legal, he replied, "I don't know anything about that."  Then we verbally exchange the same statements about it is and isn't legal.  Finally he flat out says I can't open carry.  I tell him at that point to have a nice day, and me and my partner walk.  At no time did we get loud, or even grab the gun.  However, the day goes on and just keeps getting me more and more fired up about it.

Any way, had to vent.

God Bless,

Jeff

You are right they are wrong...  ;D
Anything I post may be my opinion and not the law... you are responsible to do your own verification.

Blackstone (1753-1765) maintains that "the law holds that it is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer."

None other than flints finest. City PD of course. The guy was shifting his eyes all around intentionally not looking directly at me.  I thought it was kinda rude actually.

Lol. Nice. Yes, but only at first. The story changed.  It was just frustrating. He acted like it was his first day or something. He said, and I quote, "you can't carry in places like this." I was amazed. Again, we walked pretty much in the middle of the conversation. I was saddened by the lack of care. I'm almost done moving my liberties to the side for the cops around here.

God Bless you all,
Jeff

to hell with "am i being detained?"    "am i free to go?"

great way to end a consentual encounter!!!

Kinda what I was thinking.  Its gonna be real tough for me to be bullied by the police.  I can't stand when they start doing that stuff.

What is funny to me is that after every story I here about cops saying one MUST conceal if they have a CPL, that person always ends up walking away. The cops have to know that they aren't correct or people would be falsely arrested more often. In the back of their mind, I KNOW they are thinking, "I don't think they can open carry with a CPL but I don't want to be a donkey and arrest someone who is correct, they will be giving me a hard time at dunkin donuts tomorrow..."

That's hilarious.  I wish I could buy you a drink. That's amazing.
