Gun show attendee shoots himself in the leg

The man went to a gun show that does not permit visitors to carry. The man was escorted to an area for him to unload his firearm. While pulling out his firearm, he had a ND.

I wonder if the insurance company will see the no carry policy as contributing?

Another reason to not go to a gun show that forces you to disarm.

As long as no one here says constitutional carry would have prevented this, we'll all be OK.

Just the action of unloading&loading in a public place is moronic and ill advised! No guns go off accidentally or otherwise while in the holster untouched,as it should be! The more folks are forced to unload-reload,the greater chance of mistakes! Just plain "common sense'! CARRY ON!
In GOD I TRUST! Luke 22:36 "and if You don't have a sword, sell Your cloak and buy one". Nehemiah 4:17 "Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at His side as He worked."  I AGREE! AMEN!

That one gun in a holster went off all by itself and shot that girl in the chest when she hugged that off duty detroit cop.  :o

And you won't hear any more about it in the news either. I think it's still "under investigation." And we all know that accidental homicides involving detroit police officers and officials can take years to conclude. If ever.

If it happened with anyone else: he'd be in the sentencing phase by now...

Except that when one of their deputy chiefs was found dead in his bathroom from 3 gunshots to the chest by a gun found in the livingroom, it was quickly ruled a suicide. So not all homicides involving dpd officers take decades to investigate.

Yeah it's amazing that a holstered M&P 40 did that when she somehow or another activated the trigger while hugging him...

I went to Gibraltar Trade Center's gun show last month had to unload and get zip tied... Wasn't crazy about the idea; good news... Didn't shoot myself or anyone else.. ;D

Not really. You don't have a "right" to carry in a private place.  I can agree with someone not wanting to patronize a business that doesn't allow the lawful carry of firearms, but it is not your "right" to carry there.

Gibralter trade center gun show is considered "private"?  I did knot know that considering it's in the same building with everything else.

And since it's a private event they can enforce their own rules with no open carry right?

Is the Gibraltar trade center building owned by a private entity (individual or company) or a public entity (government of some sort)?

True- I was thinking about the basic human right of survival, but I guess if you intentionally patronize a gun show that does not allow lawful carry, it just proves Darwin was right...

Well... You can call it whatever you want.. I don't feel as if I sold anything for a buck let alone my rights.

Truthfully I've never been to a gun show; so for me it was all new. I did not know that this zip tying of your carry pieces was not SOP at all gun shows. Having said that... It was fun and I wish I would have had a crapload of $$$

Now weather or not I go back to it is another story. Personally I am not crazy about being disarmed but as a privately owned/controlled building I have to abide by their rules if I attend. I may not continue to attend if I find out about other gun shows that allow lawful carry.

I carry a firearm because their are real threats in the world and when seconds count; the Police are minutes away!
