Great find.  And the mayor brings up a great point.  I wonder if the Mayor of Grand Rapids took a similar oath to uphold the constitutions of the US and Michigan, and the laws of the state of Michigan?  If so, his actions are in direct contravention of the laws of the state of Michigan, and thus he is breaking his oath of office!

This should be brought up at the next city council meting.

I believe another comment thread pointed out that all elected officials in MI have to take a similar oath. I don't recall which thread or the statute. I believe it is actually part of the MI constitution that requires this.

There is no doubt in my mind that it is in their oath of office to uphold the laws and constitution of the state of Michigan.

That was a very enjoyable video. I think gun carriers should take turns OCing into every council meeting. At the sight of a gun, the loser councilman would immediately leave every meeting. It would be an effective way to "un-elect" him since he'd never be there to vote on council business. LOL.
