New M&P9c
« on: February 04, 2013, 11:20:39 AM »
Picked up a M&P9c to supplement my M&P9.

Now I pretty much have dedicated OC & CC pistols.  Using the 9c for work (where concealed is a big must) and the full size for normal carry routine outside of work (99% of the time it's OC).

Nice pair.

I keep saying I'm going to get an M&P 45, but having not gotten around to it yet I probably wouldn't be able to find one in stock.

Thanks.
Yeah, I had to look for about two weeks to find the 9c.

I just purchased my 9c a few weeks ago and I love it, I plan on getting the 17 round magazine with grip extension for it for when I'm OCing.

For when you OC...as opposed to when you don't carry at all? ;)

Haha.  I need a grip insert for range duty.
I pretty much only plan on carrying the 9c at work and the FS any other time.

BTW, I did buy the M&P .22 Adam suggested on Facebook.  It doesn't break down as easily as I'd like it to (doesn't break down like M&P), but it's not bad.

I'd love to pick one up.  But an AR is next and if I pick up too many in a short time frame the wife's feathers get ruffled.

Does the limited mag capacity on a full size frame not bother you?
That is the main reason I haven't tried on yet.

When I carry my 45 I carry two spare magazines, so no.  The M&P carries 10+1, so that is more than my Para which carries 7+1.  Carrying one or two spare mags would give me 21 or 31 rounds.

That makes sense. I carry a XD .45 compact which has 10 rounds with the short mag and 13 with the full size. I just thought a full size double stack magazine should hold more rounds ( Fullsize XD, Glock 13rds, FN 15rds etc ). I havent carried a 1911 for a while so I forgot about those having even lower capacity with the single stack mags.

Maybe I need to get over losing a few rounds per mag and try the M&P

I hope the break down isnt too bad for you, have you shot it yet?

The breakdown isn't horrible, it just isn't as smooth as the regular M & P. From the outside, it would look the same. However, looks are deceiving.

I haven't had an opportunity to shoot it yet because this is my first .22 LR And ammunition for that caliber is in short supply.

Nice...

I have an M&P 40c. I leaned not long after purchasing it that I could by a 9mm Barrel and mags and shoot it in a 9mm configuration; it's like having two guns for the price of one!

12 rounds in 9mm 10 rounds in .40

Of course no matter how I carry; concealed or Open I always have spare mags with me.

Love my M&P...   8)
