OC while scouting land for hunting
« on: March 28, 2013, 08:38:18 PM »

So I have a question that I have not been able to find a answer.  Am I able to OC while scouting land (state) for hunting? This will be done during the summer and early fall.  A guy I work with is arguing with me saying I can not have a loaded firearm in the woods without a hunting permit. Any feed back would be great.

Thanks

Then it's of absolutely no consequence as DNR rules make an exemption for CPL holders.

If you come across any feral hogs, your CPL serves as a hunting license too. :D

They are quite tasty. Practice on moving targets is always fun, too.

I got curious and looked up the law on hunting feral swine, and indeed it mentions a CPL, so that is your hunting license. All the other usual hunting rules still apply.
If you want to shoot any other game, you need the appropriate hunting license.
