SATURDAY AFTERNOON SHOOTOUT

With Hosts Brian Jeffs and Jerry Brewer, along with frequent guest John Roshek.
The show airs live every other Saturday from 1:00 -2:00 p.m.

We talk about gun rights, firearm laws, personal rights and all things related to the 2nd Amendment.  Our specialty is open carry of a handgun but are known to stray a bit into a variety of topics.  We also have guests in the studio as well as callers, it’s recorded live.  We always try to make you laugh, think and wonder why we keep doing this podcast (hint: Because it’s fun and we hope worthwhile.)

New Contest
Announcing: A new contest from SAS.... "Shoot Us Down".

On our next show (Aug 7th) we will have our first contest.
It will consist of any caller or chat room listener, who can ask a question that Brian or I cannot answer, hence... "Shoot Us Down"... will win the prize.
Depending on the interest/participation in this contest, we may make it a bi-monthly or even monthly event. Rules for the contest are provided below. We appreciate your support and will gladly consider any ideas you may have for the contest.
Our thanks, Brian & Jerry

We will announce the game at the beginning of the show and what the prize will be for the contest.
Questions must pertain to Michigan handgun laws and OC / CC.
If there is more than one question that stumps us:
The names of the winners will be placed in my dirty black hat and the winner will be drawn from the hat.

The current prize was donated by MichRRConductor... our grateful thanks to him and for his continued support of the show and the carry movement here in Mich.

The prize is tickets for 2 village admissions (Adult or Child) to Crossroads Village and a 12:00 train ride on the Huckleberry Railroad for Saturday, August 14, 2010.

The address for Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad is 6140 Bray Rd., Flint, MI 48505.

Join us for the show and win a prize.

Edit to amend rules: Sorry I was tired.

Good show today. Thanks to all who joined us in the chat room. Lots of info covered and I hope to have some follow up facts on the new Miranda ruling.

We only had one participant for our "shoot us down" game; Congratulations to Ken, who is a contractor working in Afghanistan; asked how many cpl's were revoked during the first year of issue in Mich. Brian got it wrong so Ken gets the tickets for the crossroads village. I put them in the mail on the way home after the show. We will post if we will have another game.
Thanks for your interest and support.
Jerry

See the show below to see me in my Halloween costume.  Not scary just sad.  Plus the show is not bad, we talk with a private contract para-medic working on a base in Afghanistan.

Next show will be Saturday the 22nd. 1:00 PM at Flint Talk Radio.

I also want to say thanks to Jerry for his 4 years as co-host and creator of the SAS. Jerry will be on hiatus for an indeterminate period.  Jerry has held together the show and devoted a lot of time and money toward the goal of educating people about the 2nd amendment, open carry and gun rights in general.  Jerry may join the show from time to time and is welcome back at any time. Jerry, I had a lot of fun hosting the show with you and I hope you enjoy your time off.

So we move onward. SAS will try a slightly different format as Nate Nephew will be the new co-host. Nate is co-author of our book “My Parents Open Carry” and was a co-founder of MOC, Inc. and it’s first Secretary. Nate wants to bring in more political content into the primarily gun rights theme of the show and I agree that the two go hand in hand. So the show will be about half gun and civil rights and half political.

Nate is very conservative, while I tend to be a bit more moderate so the show should have some interesting debates. As always you are invited to call in or post comments during the live show. We hope the new theme is more enjoyable and will generate thought.

Thanks again to Jerry and to all those that have viewed the show, we do it to educate and inform and we hope we have.

Thanks,
Brian Jeffs
