Just a friendly reminder
« on: May 20, 2013, 12:21:15 PM »
Recording devices don't do a bit of good if they aren't rolling. Batteries are cheap compared to the potential cost of not having audio/video when you need it. Encounters can happen anywhere, and they can initiate and escalate quickly enough to make activation a practical impossibility.

Carry on.

The OP would be wise to keep his mouth shut...pending legal matter.

It's easy to get comfortable and convince yourself that recording is probably not necessary. If we're going to carry guns, knowing that the odds of needing them are slim, it makes sense to record while doing so.

As for what reminded me, this isn't the time or place to discuss it.

Absolutely- as a minimum, anytime you leave the confines of your home, armed or not. I'm starting to wonder about IN the home, as well.

I will admit to being complacent.  When I first began OCing I wore my recorder religiously.  Now, not so much.

Thank you for the reminder to be ever vigilant.

Please post details when you can.  Thank you.

I have never needed it but I never leave home without it running, much like the guns I carry.   ;D

I grew up in Jackson County and still head back almost every weekend.  Spend a fair amount of time in downtown too.

So I picked this up at Best Buy yesterday: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+Digital+Voice+Recorder/8572041.p?id=1218879313495&skuid=8572041&sellerId=
When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. Luke 11:21

Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."  Luke 22:36

I have the same one. Seems to work pretty well for me. I price matched from one of their demo laptops and got $12 off too.

Arrested?

Detained?

I will provide no further details at this time, out of respect for the person involved.
