What are the thoughts on purchasing alcohol while open carrying? Example, at Wesco grabbing a six pack or something of that nature. Not for consumption while carrying of course!
As someone who carries, I fully accept responsibility and the consequences of my actions..

It is 100% legal (assuming you have a CPL) and I used to do it often before I quit drinking.

I've purchased wine at Meijer while open carrying.  Maybe more than once.   :P

From what I understand, you may not open carry in any place of business that even has a liquor license. Unless pf course you have a valid CPL.

Or permission.

Thank you for all the prompt replies. I do have a CPL but a valid point.

It was a book years before it was a movie.

I think I have a first edition.  Yeah, I'm that old.   :P

I have had no problems purchasing alcohol while open carrying (with a  CPL). I did one time have a clerk ask me about it as I was in uniform (when I worked security) and asked if Iwas going on duty or off. I answered I was off duty and going home, and had had a really bad day lol. He took that in stride and said he wished they (the store) had armed security at times.

Bragging rights.  I had a Rolling Stone subscription in the early '70's when they were pulp and still published porn pictures in it.  That's when HST became legend.  My bookshelf is still adorned with some of his works.  He was a troubled man.  (I was like 16 years old).

If you can find it, buy the movie from the crittrion (I think that's how it's speeled) collection. It's a double DVD, one is the movie and the other was various interviews with Hunter himself.
