Mine.

I can shade and texture the design.  I used a flat design because it copies well in B&W, etc.

The star looks kind of LEOish. I was curious about why it is on the MOC logo.

No real reason other than filling the space.  Stars are often used in heraldry and in an emblem called the stars and strips.

I wanted a simple and traditional design that followed heraldic traditions and rules that portrayed the idea of a holster on a belt...as in open carry.

I also did the design with the state shape that is used on a few other MOC things.

A good design should be simple and recognizable think pepsi circle, etc....

So, I'll throw mine in, instead of the star, how about the state of MI, both peninsulas?

It would be less of a disruption in design to just remove the star.

But this logo has been in use for almost 6 years.  MOC has buttons, coins, banners, brochures, shirts, hats, etc. already in use.

And as stated they use an alternative with the state of Michigan
