Took the wife to the range
« on: August 11, 2013, 09:10:41 PM »
First time she ever shot a firearm was today.  I had given her safety instructions here at the house with empty pistols and snap caps.  Thankfully, she's respectful of them and was more concerned about doing something unsafe than anything else.

Spent a half hour shooting.  She fired the Glock 26, Glock 17, Ruger LCP, and Sig P239.  She liked the Glock 26 the best.  The visible hammer on the LCP and the Sig bugged her.  She was anticipating the shot.  I've never had the problem, but her finger kept sliding down the trigger on the LCP and would get pinched between the bottom of the trigger and the trigger guard.  She fired about 50 rounds total, only missed the paper once.

Best news is that she wants to go again... and get her CPL.

About 50 rounds across all 4. She put around 8 rounds thru before she was positive she didn't like it. I only put 3-4 mags thru the LCP each trip to the range. Too snappy and small for extended shooting.
