We've received word that the Detroit Public library is going to start banning guns, despite CADL v MOC making their ban unlawful. What say you?

Personaly Q, It smells like money and a big headache and a lot of media BS. It also has the makings of a trap. So best to set up a nice battle plan with options out to "N" encase it is a trap of some sort. Then have an open carry day at a Library in Detroit with professional grade media and notify the MSP first and let them know you expect direct violation of State law. Then make sure that it happens at more then one Library.

That or get enough residents of Detroit that CC or OC to file criminal charges for violation of State law with intent (sedition sounds about right). I doubt any of them really want to find their light coming in slices and will blow smoke till the bracelets jingle and then they will try to negotiate themselves into the position they want. Carefully done this could be used to show the blatant attempts to violate the 2A and unelected individuals over stepping their authority.

My only point would be to set up a trust for school in Detroit to help students and have the funds go there once the case was done and dusted. Yes, that is meant to rub salt in the wound. -Michael

Is the Detroit Public Library part of the City, rather than a district?  And if so, isn't their ban unlawful regardless of CADL v MOC?

They are a district library like CADL, so CADL v MOC applies.

If they weren't, MCRGO v Ferndale would apply.
