It would be great if Heartwell got the boot in the next election.  Unfortunately he has until 2015 left in this term …… and if he runs I expect he will win again handily.  Sigh.

Snip.......................

My question is.... How many were up for re-election?

Is this 23 just a normal turn over or can it really be attributed to their affiliation to Bloomberg?

All of those 23 lost reelection.

The article says another 69 retired. That can be attributed to many things. Maybe they didn't want to do the job anymore and were replaced with someone equally anti, or perhaps they saw the writing on the wall and decided to just retire rather than lose an election.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

How many mayors  that are members of Bloomberg's group were up for re-election ?

In all elections, some slots change parties, was 23 just a normal expectation or was it like 23 out of 30 that got booted?

I'm not sure about that number nationally, but in Virginia, the NRA went 65-2 in the delegate races. Which increased A rated delegates by two.
