mechanic?

i have a dodge dakota LE single cab 4x4 3.9L that apparently had the trans go last night.

i was driving down i-94. first it appeared to O/D went as it down shifted once and jerked pretty hard. it was a very hard shift down. rpm jumped up to close to 3500. i rarely have them go over 2500.

as i pulled off the freeway at 12 mile down shifting caused a grinding sound. i made it to the market on the corner and stopped. i put the truck in park and got out to look. there was a definite burnt smell to it. i am assuming burnt trans fluid or something. there was quite a bit of smoke coming from under the truck. i pulled the trans fluid dipstick and smoke was coming from in there too. i had just checked the trans fluid 2 weeks ago when i did an oil change.

need t find a good reputable mechanic that wont bend me over backwards and give it to me. decent priced trustworthy mechanic is what i need. thought id see if anyone knows anyone

I own a Ford F-350, so you know I spend a lot of time and money with a mechanic.

They have always done a good job for me. Being at 13mile and Groesbeck, they are close to where you broke down.
