« on: December 05, 2013, 04:53:29 PM »
Have a question or two (or twenty) about open carry? Michigan Open Carry will be hosting a seminar at the newly opened Barraks 616 just east of Grand Rapids.

Lawful open carry of a holstered handgun welcome (but not required).

These seminars, presented by Michigan Open Carry, are an excellent opportunity to learn about the laws and myths that surround the open carry of a handgun in Michigan.

Bring a friend and find out more about open carry in Michigan and Michigan Open Carry, Inc.

Where: Barracks 616 - 5740 Foremost Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 MAP
When: January 18th 3pm-5pm

Please "purchase" (reserve) a seat to this event by clicking the link below

RSVP HERE

*Note: Please arrive 5 minutes early as any open seats at the start of the event will be made available to those who do not have tickets.

Great news!!!!   Hopefully update to date laws will be covered.  I listened to all of the short vids from teh seminar on youtube.  Definitely good that its right next to my work at that.  Can't wait.  We need more events for Greater Grand Rapids.

Actually I don't automatically make them anymore as they were not being used. However if someone wants one for an event I can make it.

They weren't?!?!? Why not?!?!? They are a great way to spread the word around the seminar location. I printed them and had them on the counter of the Gander Mountains when I was doing seminars. Some people that saw them said afterward that's how they found out about the seminars. It should be just as mandatory to have flyers at the site as it is to post the info on the gun boards.

There is one in Taylor the weekend before, but I see you are already busy that weekend. I assure you there will be more. If you have ideas on where/when to host a seminar, you can always get in contact with our SE region seregion@miopencarry.org.

Though, if you are just not willing to wait, we are happy to have you in GR. :)

bigt if i am not mistaken you are co-ordinating the houghton lake meet up this weekend :) i will be there for sure already have it marked in my calendar and trying to get the girlfriend to tag along :)

unfortunately the weekend prior to the 18th i have a family get together :(

also one thing i was thinking was maybe trying to organize a shooting event at a range. most places should give group rates if we have enough people in attendance :)

I have good news, bad news, and more good news for you.

First, the good news. Our Jan 18th OC seminar in Grand Rapids has received a good deal of interest.
Now, the bad news. The seminar received so much interest that it filled up by Christmas!
But, there is more good news. We have made arrangements and added more seats!

Come and get 'em before they run out too! If we run out of tickets again, we will make every effort to accommodate as many as possible. Those with tickets will have first priority.

Don't forget about the dinner/fundraiser afterward.

I have a ticket and if I can get my hours switched at work (most likely a non issue) I'll be there for sure.

Do we enter from upstairs or do we enter from the "Class and Gun Range" entrance?

Either will work. The seminar will be in the classroom downstairs behind the counter for the range.

That would be best. That way we can check you in, and if there are too many people, you will be able to get a seat.

Due to heavy interest in this event, and other things going on at B616, it appears that we are in need of extra chairs.

Does anyone happen to have a line on extra chairs?
