I enjoyed the part that explained that the owner of the doll maintained a sense of humor saying that the plane is much safer now that this monkey is disarmed!

Well it was a replica of a gun. And it was large enough that if presented as such, a person could believe it to be a gun.

I have a real gun that is not much larger than 2". And I have seen real guns smaller than 2". I don't think the TSA guard acted improperly, in this instance.

If someone on the street used it to assault me, I don't think I'd have any problem using deadly force. Would any of you?

2 inch toy gun still resembles a real fire arm therefore will not be allowed on a plane. next time she should check her bag.

Anything can be weapon. She is worried about an obvious toy gun 2" at that. What about a pen pencil. I have seen belt buckles where the do hickey that goes in the belt hole was a hollow like needle.  Anyone ready to fly naked?

Wonder how that defense would hold up in court?  "The TSA classifies this as a deadly weapon.  I defended myself accordingly."

The story is about a gun. While it is indeed a toy gun, it could still be used as if it weren't. How would you discern a toy 2" gun from a real 2" gun being used in an assault upon you. Would you laugh it off? How much laughing would you do with a bullet in your eye?

And because this is a pistol, it must be Open Carried, unless you have a CPL.

I understand your point. Would they not allow a stuffed soft gun?  Are they not allowing nothing in the shape of gun?  I would assume since it was a hard plastic is why she did not allow it.But who is ready to fly naked.

This is why the airlines serve peanuts instead of pop-tarts.  You can't bite a peanut into the shape of a pistol.

Could  NOT put in checked bag,,  Must be declared a gun and those procedures followed.

I guess we need 4000 of those checked in next week.
