About.com Quiz on MI Gun Laws
« on: December 17, 2013, 06:41:58 PM »
I got 60%. The ones I missed, only 1 is probably truly wrong.

There is a caveat that guns laws change. Was any of this ever true?

ALL guns must be registered with the police. Really? It is only handguns.

PRIVATE gun sales MUST have background checks. Oh yeah, since when?

Handgun buyers are REQUIRED to have safety training. While a good idea, not the law.

Do state police and federal NICS perform a background check? I said no, because I thought only a NICS check was done, am I wrong? I know for a CPL a more in-depth check is done.

See the quiz for yourself: http://crime.about.com/od/quizyourstategunlaws/qt/Michigan-Gun-Quiz.htm

I did 80%, some bad questions in there, I tried to anticipate the question they meant to ask.

Example, are locking devices required to be sold with the gun?
private sales they are not required
long guns commercial or private sales are not required

This guy has been posting firearms quizes since at least 2007.  Calguns complained about him doing the same shoddy work in 2007.  He's a college dropout private investigator trying to drum up interest.
