Federal Court Voids 7-Round Mag Limit of NY’s SAFE Act
« on: January 01, 2014, 05:05:19 PM »
Federal District Court Judge William M. Skretny has found that most provisions of NY’s SAFE Act–passed only one month after the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting–do not infringe the Second Amendment.

He did, however, find that the provision that limits magazine capacity to only seven rounds was unconstitutional under the Second Amendment.

That ruling is as stupid as our own local CADL district court ruling.

High capacity magazines are illegal, but 7 round limit is unconstitutional?

I feel sorry for those people, I would really hate to live there and have to deal with that mess.

At least it's a small victory even though being stuck at a minimal 10 round magazines and not even being allowed standard capacity magazines the noose was loosened a bit.

About 5 or 6 years ago I was thinking about taking a job in NY, I am so glad I decided against it.
