I've heard talk about a Romulus march on the same day on a different website. Has the Romulus march been moved?  I'm hoping it will not effect the turn out we will have,  unlike the weather.

To the best of my knowledge it is still planned for 3/2/14.

MOC is not involved in the planning of any other events, other than the Michigan Open Carry Rally in Grand Rapids, on March 2nd. Therefore, MOC does not have any information regarding any other events that may or may not be scheduled for that day.

There is a plan to have a march in Romulus, A member of the MOC board is trying to get it changed to a day that would not interfere with the one in GR. No one said it was an MOC event, just an event defending Open Carry in the state, something I think we can all agree on.

If anyone is interested in having a MOC event in that area, the best place to start is by sending an email to the Southeastern Regional Coordinator.

seregion@miopencarry.org

This will ensure that conflicts in scheduling are minimized.

Ok, I will let Tom know. I am not sure that there is interest in having a MOC event as much as an OC event.

Why wouldn't there be?

Because some parties (who will remain nameless) hates MOC and anything to do with it.  These same parties have tried to organize events on their own on OCDO.  When MOC offered to help them organize/promote the event, we were rebuffed.  Later the organizer cancelled the event because he was frustrated there were only one or 2 people on OCDO's rather limited local audience that committed to going.

Why would an open carrier hate MOC, the most active gun-rights organization in Michigan who also promote open carry?

I could say why, but I might get banned. Then i wouldn't be able to post any SE Region events. I suppose I could have one of my sockpuppets do it for me.

Raggs, was helping me discourage someone from setting up another event on the same day as this one.

It appears that Ezer is stepping up and is going to create an official event in Romulus at some point in the future.

Thanks to the both of you.

Yes I plan to, however if they want to do their thing on the 2nd, more power to them. I, like you and Raggs, tried to work with them to no avail. So be it.

There seems to be hard feelings on both sides judging by the two threads. This is a good chance to build a little more unity. I hope this opportunity isn't wasted. Thanks Ezerharden and BigT8261.

Oh I plan to do something still, however it does not rely on help or participation from a certain individual on the dark side.

Ezerharden and I have been working on this. We're still the SE team. We've got a track record, with a lot of successful experience, putting on events together.

Forecast is calling for 16 degree high temperature in GR Sunday.  This should make OC a challenge.  If I show up, there's a good chance I'll be carrying concealed.
