I can't say they got off topic,  because I don't think they ever got on topic.

The station host might as will have a sign on him saying paid shill of the anti-gun groups. The lawyer pointed out some very interesting issues and they need to be dealt with.  The problem for the anti-gun group in Michigan is that the natural state is the right to bear arms, therefore there is NOT a law saying that you can open carry unless you consider Article 1 section 6 law and then the legality of the state CPL law and PFZ's comes seriously into question. That is a can of worms that I am not going to touch here. -Michael

The title was open carry, but all they did was talk about concealed carry.

I have placed a call into the station. I was told to call back in the afternoon when their evening staff is in.

If they are going to talk about open carry, perhaps that should ask someone that knows something about open carry.

Maybe you could invite them to the open carry seminar in Grand Rapids tonight.

I will be telling them about that and our march in March.

The trick is, to do this in a manner that creates a bridge, rather than burn one.

Agreed, but a better term would be challenge.  Trick gives the wrong imoression, but I know your intent is pure.

I just got off the phone with someone from Fox 17. I was very happy to see they called me back. He explained that the attorney is a sponsor and the segment is his and the topic is his.

I offered my assistance for any stories in the future which I believe was received well. Overall, I think it was a good call and progress was made.

I also told them that I was not complaining about a perceived bias and that I understand that OC is a complex issue that even many gun owners get wrong. I was merely calling to provide expertise should they have a need for it in the future.

I then happened to mention a few things coming up in the next week or two where they are going to want my input.

One of those events will be posted soon. Stay tuned.

Tom, since this is in a City building and not a Federal building, can we CC at the commission meeting?  I'm new to this and don't have an OC holster yet.

OC or CC (assuming you have a CPL) is lawful in said building.

Thanks for the input, SD40VE.  My problem is, it's a little CC weapon so not a lot of companies make an OC holster for it.  I'm looking for a level II type retention holster.  I really wanted a Safariland ALS with the thumb release, or any Kydex with a finger release.  I just don't like the thumb strap loop type of retention.  Just my preference.

Oh, yeah, the little shooter is a Bersa Thunder 380.

Also, thanks to TheQ for your response.  I do have my CPL and will CC.
