Breaking: Derek Carlile Reinstated As A Police Officer
« on: February 20, 2014, 10:59:15 PM »
Cliffs:

Cop not only leaves his two small kids alone in a van, but also leaves his loaded gun in the vehicle's cup holder.

Three year old grabs gun and shoots and kills seven year old sister with it.

Prosecutor dismisses all charges against cop and cop is reinstated because it all happened while Carlile was off-duty.

Yep, the man who couldn’t even be trusted to keep his own children safe from his own gun is now trusted to keep the people of Marysville, Washington safe from the felons he was only a few jurors away from joining in prison.

I'm sure a few people on the jury were like... "well he couldn't have done it on purpose, he's a cop"

Another example of "only cops are trained to handle guns properly."  Should a guy who can't even remember the basic rules of gun safety be trusted to carry and use a gun for his public job? Should a guy who is so careless with his own gun and family have power over your gun and family? Would Bechtel keep an engineer whose bridge failed, sending people to their deaths?

Considering he built the Fife bridge after a bridge did fail, I would say no, not a chance. As to this officer being fit for duty, only in some ugly dream world and unfortunately we are in that world until we can get enough people to see logic and reality. Speaking of enough people remember the 11th monkey rule as it does work and there are ugly folks using it for ugly reasons. There is not any reason we should not be using it to help enlighten folks to the reality of responsible open carry and proper use of firearms. -Michael
