I think it would depend upon how close I was.  If I were right in the direct vicinity I would engage the threat.  If I were far away, I am not going to go running into battle like Captain America UNLESS a family member was near the threat.

Food for thought...

The 2012 census says Michigan has 9.88 million people.  MSP reports 537,803 as of March 3, 2014.  So roughly 5% have a CPL.  Let's assume, for sake of numbers, that only 50% carry all the time.  Crowded mall has 2,000 people and 50 carriers.

Who are you more concerned with, the perpetrator or Captain America?

If SHTF, it's time to GTFO.  I think the article is spot on.

Have to say I carry for selfish reasons.  To keep me and my loved ones safe.  I'm not looking to be anyone's hero. I probably won't draw unless if I'm cornered.  If I see a door and a way out, I'll take it.

In any violent situation I'm/someone I love isn't getting shot at: GTFO, engage only if required.

Hrm. I do not know what I would do to be honest.

Of course, it might be said that I do have training for these situations - albeit I'm the one entering the building.

I agree, I know in the past I have ran towards the fight, I am hoping that a little age has had its effect, and I take care of my own, then GTHO.
