Michigan Handgun registration
« on: March 16, 2014, 05:58:11 PM »
Listening to the news lately, Michigan needs to get rid of handgun registration. With Connecticut in the mist of battle over confiscation, the Canadian Royal Mounted Police making certain firearms illegal (without going through Parliament) and now BATFE raiding Ares Armor over legal merchandise (not even officially firearms) it is time to stop the list of handgun owners in Michigan. People used to call this thinking paranoid, but the state and federal governments (and not just in the US obviously) have shown that it is just true progressive thinking. All Michigan freedom lovers need to stand together to get rid of the list of handgun owners that could easily lead to midnight raids and unconstitutional confiscation.

Welcome to our forum and thank you for becoming a member. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that disagrees with you.

Steve Stockman (Rep. from Texas), has introduced H.R. 4380, a bill that would cut off federal Justice Department funds to any state which attempts to confiscate and register firearms.
This might be the way to get rid of handgun registration in Michigan.  No state wants to lose money.  And with registration doing nothing but taking time and resources from the public and police that have to process the paperwork, this could be a win win.
Please reach out to your representatives and ask them to support this bill.  You can go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/#state_sc and enter your zip code in the upper right to find your rep.  Or you can go to http://gunowners.org/alert4242014.htm and join with the GOA in sending a formal letter to your rep.

Now might be the time to get rid of the registration that does nothing to help fight crime, and only causes issues for law abiding gun owners.

Even if it got to the Senate, Harry would never let it come up for a vote.
And if it did get to the president, no way in HELL would BHO sign it.
