1st successful O'C, black jeans, black t-shirt, blackhawk serpa holster, gen4 glock 19, 2 extra 13 round mags, audio recorder(not going, I know), my glasses, and Pirelli tire hat on backwards so I was alot cooler then I was prepared for.

O'C to Ming Sun and 7-11 in Melvindale, went into Ming Sun for a pickup and nobody noticed if they did they didn't say anything Except. when i was at the counter two black men to the table right of me looked at least 3-4 times I had no problem with it and they kept talking about it constantly but I kind of just was preoccupied with the cute honey at the counter, although I was by no means ignorant of any intent that might have been there.

as I left saw a ambulance at the CVS that Szerdi goes to, and I thought nevermind on getting milk as there might be LEO. just as I walk to my car I see a cop who I thought was called for me, but in actuality pulled someone over and I couldn't see the car. luckily by the time my leg stopped shaking I was already re-arming at the 7-11 down the road, only for me to be wholly ignored once again to my own pleasure, then heading home to overdose on brisk lemonade and fried cat.

thanks Gryphon for the info, but I didn't see it when I went out so I just kept my mags in the glovebox!

Congrats on your first OC.  I know you felt self-conscious, as did I when I first began three or four years ago, but as you noticed, hardly anyone else noticed.  And the people that do generally ignore it, although occasionally you will get a question or two from interested pro-gunners.

If you're anything like me, after your first half-dozen times your self-consciousness will pass and it will begin to become second nature.

woa woa woa, you only loaded your 15 round mags with 13? that's bad luck.  :p

And if you're anything like me, the only grief you will get for open carrying will come from your friends who just don't understand even after explaining it to them 50 times a day.  :SMH:

thank you both and I didn't even realize the 13rnds bad luck if I had, I woulda loaded either 12 or 14. Luckily the only thing most of my friends are envious, and some are not mature enough to handle a firearm at least not yet. I was completely at ease untill I saw the melvindale LEO.

1 more year then I'll apply for that cpl and feel so much better

It's not, unless you think 13 is unlucky I guess.   :P

Yes sir, that will make your life a whole lot easier.  The remark about the magazine capacity was just that you left 2 rounds out of it.

IMO max loading of a magazine isn't always good, so I avoid it. my extra mags make up for it

Activity on the forum seems to go in waves, from my non-scientific observations.

Also there is a tendency to not report uneventful OC, and since most OC is uneventful...

On topic, OCed at Wal-Mart, Menards, Pizza Hut, Little Chaser's, Arby's, Taco Bell, downtown South Haven  and around the house and yard the last few months with no drama to report.

Deerok, you mention OCing at 7/11 without a CPL. Has the law changed about places with liquor licenses, or is this still a no go?

You know, your right. So I thought the liquor thing was. It can't be they're primary revenue?/income.

I guess I need to be more diligent with the liquor licensed establishments

Thank you for pointing that out to me

It's any business that has a liquor license.  Even a gas station.

Personally, without a CPL, I'd keep all gun paraphernalia out of plain sight. It's legal to transport, but why open that can of worked in a traffic stop, if you don't have to?

Any place that has a liquor license is off limits. Even if they don't sell a drop of liquor. I have a Dollar General next door that I can't go in because of this. I know, it sucks.
