Anyone into boats or fishing?
« on: May 22, 2014, 08:19:08 PM »
Sold my last boat a few years ago when I had the girls, but now that they are growing up I wanted to get another one so I can get out after some walleye and perch. Picked this up off cragislist in clinton township. 1982 starcraft 16ss, 2006 Evinrude ETEC 90HP (with only 67 hours on it!)

I'm in the process of making a removable casting deck for the front, so it can be set up for fishing, or for taking the family out for a nice lake ride.

Be careful. Don't take your pistol across the border to the Canadian side of the lake.

They're killing the walleye on the Canadian side of the river, license for US resident isn't too much, I might get one. Will have to make sure I don't take it those days, hate to end up in Canadian jail, it's probably an igloo

It looks really clean!  Starcraft makes a good boat!

We sold our boat a couple of years ago .... I had owned boats for over 30 years and I miss it.  :(   I bought a 12 foot Fischer Aluminum with a 1994 Evinrude 15 HP 2 stroke this spring so the grandkids can have something to learn with!   :D

I was thinking the same thing myself!

I "launched" the Fisher yesterday.  It didn't sink!   :D

i'll get some pics, i promised the guys on the starcraft forum some pics too.

moron that runs the marina told us to stay left going out, ran into 9 inches of water...man on shore starts yelling "it's too shallow there, you have to stay right".  guess the man running the marina never learned left from right. luckily i was able to watch the depth on the lowrance and tilt the ETEC up. not the best way to start a season :-\

Here are pics of the fishing deck. Whole thing lifts out to take it back to stock configuration and allow for more passengers.

i've never fished using a kayak, but i see lots of people using them, would like to try it someday. I imagine it's fun landing a huge catfish in one of those.

we go tubing up north and usually bring my pole. i caught a roughly 5-6 lb largemouth bass. that thing was fun and pulled me down the river lol. the rest of the people with me had to paddle to catch up. i ended up giving the fish a guy out with his son. they were a little short on a  fish fry. once i confirmed he was licensed i handed that beast over to him
