Come join us in a picnic with our brothers in Ohio from NW Ohio Carry at a joint picnic. As always, the open carry of a handgun is encouraged but not required. The park has many things to do such as paddle boat rental and a playground.

Details:
July 19th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Pearson Metropark
761 Lallendorf Rd, Oregon, Ohio 43616 Map: http://mapq.st/1pEY4Zn

Please do not bring alcohol, but if you wish to bring a dish to pass that would be great.

Facebook Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/651579784929738/?ref_newsfeed_story_type=regular Please sign up as going here so we can get a headcount for food.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Does someone need a CPL to carry in Ohio? I'm not expert on Ohio law, but I want to make sure ppl going are properly advised.

Good question Phil, thanks for mentioning t. The answer is no. Open Carry is legal in Ohio like in Michigan. There are some differences in laws regarding where a CPL would be required, however this venue doesn't require one.

Good question on OH law, Q.  Ohio does have some odd ones, such as any gun with a magazine over 30 rounds is treated like a machine gun in Ohio and illegal.  So although I know this is a handgun carry event, some people do like to bring other firearms to show fellow gun-owners.  So leave your huge magazines and drums at home.

Section 2923.11
(E) "Automatic firearm" means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. "Automatic firearm" also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges.

That's 30 plus one in the chamber.  HB191 would have struck that idiotic definition, but it hasn't been passed nor signed into law.

I'd leave the Glock brand Glock at home.  Too unsafe.  Think of the children.

I'll do my best to make it. Ohio gun right groups have been very successful in getting legislation passed lately, i think meeting up with them and working together is a great idea.
