So then here is my question, why is that?

all of the new disney movies seem to be cultured in violence. elsa almost getting her head shopped off, repunsal being kidnapped. My little girl crires when this stuff happens. if i keep letting her watch these things, will she become desensitized to it?

I think I commented about this on Mlive. Talk to your kids, teach them right from wrong and real from fake. My daughter now 19 will still cry when she sees one of her fav. kid movies and a character dies. But she knows the difference. She also was aware  of what damage could be done with a fire arm and what to do if she ever found one. She learned to make guns safe, how to shoot, clear a misfeed / misfire etc. All before she was 13.

Let your kid be a kid. It is an amazing time. And talk, teach and more talk.

Did you never play cops and robbers or cowboy and indians?? Or any "play gun" games when you were a kid?
