Lake Ozark bans open carry
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:23:50 PM »
A community in Lake of the Ozarks has banned open carry so that it doesn't scare tourists away.  However, this year the legislature passed a preemption ban forbidding localities from prohibiting open carry. Unless the governor vetoes it, it will become law. Then this Lake Ozark law will be unenforceable.

From reading the article and not researching the Missouri bill.  I prefer Michigan's preemption language.  Firearms and ammunition, period.  No OC/CC clauses.

Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."  Luke 22:36

It may be my fault, you see I used to OC there every summer up until 2 yrs ago. I had Family that lived in four seasons which is right down the road. I used to go have coffee at a little breakfast joint right on 54 played games at the arcade bought fudge across the street. Never had an issue and as far as I know never scared off anybody.
