A couple of comments.
Reviewer states 1,600 fps. First of all, he was using FN SS195LF (lead free). Not a very popular round, no one uses that unless you have to have lead free ammo. The most common FN round is the FN SS197SR which is 40 gr. (heavier) and 1,750 fps (faster).
However, I carry Elite Ammunition, and the SD round I use goes 2,600 fps out of the Five-seveN pistol. And it is still soft-shooting. Out of a P90 it goes 3,100 fps. I am a fan of high (rifle) speed ammo. The damage it does has to be seen to be appreciated.
Effective range. He says 50 yards, but I think that is short. It is 150 meters – 200 meters (or more with EA) out of a P90 depending on ammo, so the Five-seveN would be less. Now you may not want to shoot that far out, but the specs call for that. The 5.7 is a pretty flat-shooting round for a pistol.
