I don't know, haven't met her yet.

When Mrs. gryphon gets her CPL in a few months she will probably CC more than OC.  I'll work on her.   ;D

Lately I have been CC more than OC.  I know, I should be ashamed.  But going to change that right, quick, and in a HURRY!

I will be open carrying during the Yale Bologna Festival this weekend, hopefully I don't get any grief from their cops.

Again (broken record here) ask her to read "The Open Carry Debate" in the July 2014 MOC Newlstter and ask her if she sees any advantages to open carry afterward.  If she wants to CC, that doesn't make her a bad person.

mine was iffy at first, but as shes been around me while i OC she has become more comfortable with it. she also took her CPL class saturday which i went to with her. got a chance to school a CPL instructor on michigan open caerry. soon as he said the dreaded line "once you have a CPL you cant open carry" i showed him a update 86 and he changed his mind lol

Had she gone to a reputable CPL instructor to begin with, you wouldn't have had to "school a CPL instructor."

Reputable CPL instructors comply with NRA rules and utilize a lawyer, or police officer with a JD, to teach the legal portion of the class.

The only CPL instructor in the area I would recommend is Rick's Firearm Academy of Detroit.

Remember that the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price has dissipated.

Who was her instructor?

rich weir. he is ex coast guard and certified in use of deadly force. also a retired cop. he did alot of training for thew USCG. the last 4 years he has been down in florida working with homeland security (he said thats all he can say). recently moved back and was doing the class. he was not aware of the update 86. i gave him a copy and explained how the laws are worded very confusingly he knew the material well, answered all questions well, except pertaining to OC.

even let me show some tactical firing and situations when he needed a guinnea pig as i am comfortable demonstrating engaging multiple targets and whatnot.

with him knowing the law now he will adjust his classes.

What does "certified in use of deadly force" mean? I truly don't know. I mean the guy is a private citizen is he not?

NRA requires ppl that teach their course use or be a lawyer or POST certified cop. Michigan doesn't use POST certification but rather MCOLES.

As for CPL instructors, I'm happy if they don't mention OC at all rather than give bad info.
