OC Kalamazoo area
« on: July 21, 2014, 08:20:14 AM »
Well, I OC'd all weekend long around Kalamazoo, Portage and Oshtemo and guess what? No issues, I didn't get chewed out by anyone. I didn't get glared at by grocery store employees. I didn't get asked to leave from anywhere! My daughter wasn't upset that I was carrying (actually pointed out a pair of shorts belt loops were looking shabby) I don't understand why I don't have a problem, I still have not had a person confront or look sideways at me for that matter.

I love OCing proudly, I love not causing issues or problems.

I have never been made aware or encountered a negative reaction.  I have however had several people thank me for OC or politely ask me if it is allowed and/or ask other questions.  I've suspected a couple of times having the local LEO called, but was not approached.

Maybe we should talk louder and cuss more?

Carry one of these.

Remember to use the shotgun hold and use your pinky to pull the trigger.

I'm at Wendy's on 68th by 131 and no looks or problems.  I generally find OC to be a good conversation starter.

You could probably stand there flipping the double bird at protesters.  I hear that's common these days while OC'ing.

OC in West MI is so boring, I'm thinking of NCing. It's like sterile OC, except without the pockets....or shirt...or belt...or trousers....commando all the way!

I carry this almost daily.  Not 1 bad comment ever...

May just have to start carrying my AR pistol. Maybe thats big enough...

I have the same problem in Kalamazoo, well everywhere really. I even oc'd into the charter comm office, handled my buisness and left with nothing being said. Maybe if I carried another gun it would incite the panic we all hear about.

I'm not worried about the panic, I just don't understand why your gun hasn't been taken away from you or why you haven't been shot first.

Can't be! Because a little "birdd" seems to always have issues there.

Was out furniture shopping last night and nobody ran or hid under tables. Like it should be.

I just started working in Portage.  I've been OC'ing during the group bicycle rides of the KBC.  The had 5 members already email the president about it.  They are not happy.  We need to setup a table Wed night at the Kal Haven Trail head :)

Yeah, I dropped out of my bicycle club about 1990. Too many leftist weenies thinking others should lead their lives the way the lefties wanted them run. That and there were increasing numbers of riders I didn't feel particularly safe sharing the road with on group rides. I'm one to talk though. The only time in ten years that I actually contacted a fellow club member was when I accidentally rear ended somebody in the middle of the Mackinac Bridge.

You did give me a good idea though. I should dust off my 30 year old race bike and OC a big stainless 1911 on the weekly Wednesday night ride, without a foam hat on my head of course.

Sounds like a plan. I should be there this wed night.  The president asked me to cc in my seat bag. Of course that would lead time muzzle in an unsafe direction and I've had seat bags fall off before. Not to mention all the stuff we carry in there.  Lets pm and coordinate our efforts.
