Light or NO POWDER charges!!! Uhm that's a pretty big "F" up from a ammo maker. Someone is in a world of trouble over at hornady.

I keep all my old boxes and still couldn't tell you which one my carry rounds came from.  I'd venture to say the rounds I carry are from 4-5 different boxes due to loading and unloading mags at the range.

I'd only be able to tell if I had rounds from that lot at some point in time.

I assume the casing and bullet weights should be consistent enough to weigh each round to see if one is severely under weight right?

Good call. That should work for Part Deux as well.

I have several empty boxes... not sure if I saved all of them.  Some rnds still in one of the boxes, looks to be pre recall.  Weighing them is a good idea.

I hear Su Casa in Lansing on Maple and Cedar sells scales capable of fine, light measurements...

I hear they also have a fine blade collection and an assortment of jewelry.

Unfortunately my powder scale is a Lee, made to weigh powder, not completed rounds with 200+grain bullets in them.

Used to be able to get Ohaus lab balances on eBay for $50 or less. Haven't looked in a long time but probably still the case.
I picked up a old green single pan (old, older than me in fact) and a modern beige double pan that way.

The double pan is in mint shape, and I never used it. I'd sell it for $40 if anybody had a use for it.
It would be great for comparing loaded rounds, just zero it and put a round on the right pan and compare other rounds by putting them on the left pan.

I still have an Ohaus triple beam from the 70's.  I used it for, um, science experiments.
