Lawyers?
« on: August 19, 2010, 06:51:33 PM »
Everyone says you should have a good one when you start to carry incase you get in that spot of wrongful arrest or charges, Is there a list of those that are pro open carry or can anyone suggest those they have had luck with?

I would recommend Dean Greenblatt

Melissa Pearce has also been kind enough to offer advice on both OCDO and MGO.

Odd that Steven Howard's name has never come up.  At least I've never heard of him.  Is he OC-friendly?  A few years ago I contacted several firearms attorneys about their willingness to just be listed on MOC's attorney page, and several declined saying that they thought OC was reckless behavior.

he is pro oc, he is the one i have it setup with if im in a dgu in michigan.

he can occasionally be found at the lansing gun show and has also showed up once or twice at the capitol building while we have rallies, he just isnt much of a public speaker like dulan is.

Yes, seriously.

I noted that I had called a number of attorneys with firearms practices across the state to see if they would be interested in having their names added to our list of attorneys on the MOC website willing to take OC cases, but that some specifically said "no" because they thought OC was reckless behavior.

Then you wrote, "In our own forum is the list."

So were you trying to tell me that we have a list here after I had just written that I wanted to add to our list here?

Someone get contact info and bio on the guy. Post it, report your own post, and ask a mid to add it to our list.

(Yes, I'm necroposting, but a name was brought up that still isn't on the list of Law Practices and I wondered why.)

So what's the deal with Steve Howard?
Did anybody approach him for permission to include him in the MOC lawyer list?
Should I keep his contact info in my wallet, or just Steve Dulan's? (I'm only interested in Ingham/Eaton county area at this point)

Yes, I have personally talked to him and extended that offer. I told him to email me his contact information and a small biography. I have never heard from him.
