Anyone interested in an MOC Sig pistol?
« on: October 12, 2014, 06:57:21 PM »
If approved (we should be able to get approval from Sig Sauer) we could have custom engraved Sig pistols--any pistol.  Engraved prices are about $250 off MSRP, so even with custom engraving that is less than the street price you'd pay at a gun shop or online retailer for a non-engraved gun.  But there is a 25 pistol minimum.  There are four engraving options: standard, silver, gold, or platinum.  Here is the price list and some of the ones they've done for other organizations.

We'd all 25 have to agree to a single model, or MOC would have to offer a single model.  All 229 or 226 or 1911 or whatever.  I own a P229 and a Sig P250 Compact is on the short list for my wife.

I wonder what 25 of these would cost (but they aren't really made by SIG):

Maybe you can find ammo for it in a year or two.

Id like a p238, but thats kind of the wrong gun for open carry...   Sigs are a little out of my price range anyway.   Do any other companies offer this?
I could write something cliché and insightful, but that would be too cliché and insightful.

Colt offers it to commanding officers. They can spec a gun for their unit complete with insignia, and soldiers in their unit can buy it for a bit less than normal wholesale.
Don't know if they offer it to clubs.

There are MOC branded AR lowers out there?

And dealing with them was a nightmare for MOC?

I'd be interested in a 80% MCGRO lower.
Nothing says 'gun rights' like unserialized and unregistered.

Ah, yes.
Memory not what it once was, but after finding this thread I seem to recall hearing something about it before.:

What, the MGO lowers thread?
1. Somebody gets fancy gunsmith here in MI to do 100 $250 billet lowers, super quality stuff that anybody would be proud to own. Besides that, it's made in Michigan!
2. 3 month project turns into 9 month project. Besides that, the original plan for handling FFL transfers falls through.
3. buyers unhappy with finished product. Holes out of spec, can't assemble without modifications, some say the finish is crap too.
4. fingers are pointed, tempers flare, nobody's happy.

Hey, at least we know up front what SIG's factory customized guns look like.
SIGs might be expensive, but for 3x the cost of the hunks of metal that MGO got, we'd be getting complete premier brand guns.

Speaking of Sig, they have unveiled their new entry for the Army’s Modular Handgun System to replace the old Beretta M9.
